General Secretary, State CoC addressed the State Level Convention organized by the Joint Forum of Trade Unions (Except BMS) and Independent Federations held in Lohia Academy on 18th April 2025

 


Dear Comrades,

The Joint Forum of Central Trade Unions (Except BMS) and Independent Federations organized a State Level Convention in Lohia Academy, Bhubaneswar on 18th April 2025.

The main focus of the Convention was to demand withdrawal of four Labour Codes, Scrapping up of UPS and restoration of OPS, revision of minimum wage to Rs. 26000, convention of Indian Labour Conference etc.

The Declaration adopted in the National Convention of Workers held in New Delhi on 18th March 2025 was unanimously accepted in the convention with a resolution to mobilize rank and file at all levels for brining a thundering success to the forthcoming Nationwide General Strike on 20th May 2025.

The Convention  was attended and addressed  by the leadership of CITU, INTUC, AITUC, HMS, AIUTUC,  AICCTU, TUCC, LDP, SEWA and UTUC along with Independent Federations from Bank, LIC, Teachers, State Govt. etc.

Accompanied with Com. Lingaraj Sahoo on behalf of Confederation of Central Govt Employees and Workers, Odisha State CoC, Com. Bruhaspati Samal , General Secretary addressed the Convention.  Conveying our CHQ's view on accepting the Declaration adopted in the National Convention of Workers held in New Delhi on 18th March 2025, Com. Samal informed the Joint Forum regarding our State Level Convention already scheduled on 3rd May 2025 and other activities of the State CoC to mobilize our affiliates and members.

We were with the CTUs, are with the CTUs and will be with the CTUs for all national issues affecting the common citizens of India in general and the workers and employees in particular, Com. Samal said.
