Dear Comrades,
The Odisha State Co-ordination Committee (CoC) of the Confederation of Central Government Employees & Workers extends its heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to the leadership and members of the Income Tax Employees Federation (ITEF), Odisha State Unit, the Gological Survey of India Employees Association (GSIEA), Odisha State Unit and NFPE, Jajpur Divisional unit for their active participation in the lunch hour demonstration held on 20th August 2025 at their respective workplaces.
Your united effort, unwavering commitment, and solidarity towards protecting the rights of Central Government employees and pensioners have strengthened our collective voice and added significant momentum to our struggle. The successful demonstration reflects the determination of Odisha’s workforce to stand firmly behind the two-point charter of demands adopted by the Confederation:
1. Immediate Constitution of the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC):
We reiterate our firm demand for the Government to constitute the 8th CPC without further delay and finalize its Terms of Reference by incorporating the suggestions and views placed by the Staff Side, NC-JCM. Any further procrastination will not only delay the much-needed revision of pay and allowances but also adversely affect the financial and social security of lakhs of Central Government employees.
2. No Discrimination Amongst Pensioners:
We strongly oppose any policy or decision that creates distinctions among pensioners based on their date of retirement or the accepted recommendations of different Central Pay Commissions. All pensioners, irrespective of their retirement date, have dedicated their lives to serving the nation and deserve equal treatment, dignity, and justice.
Through this collective demonstration across Odisha, we send a clear and firm message to the Union Government:
"Respect the rights of employees and pensioners. Constitute the 8th CPC immediately and ensure equality for all pensioners without any discrimination."
The Confederation Odisha State CoC assures its full support to any further statewide or nationwide programs called by the Confederation CHQ, New Delhi, in pursuit of these just and legitimate demands. Together, we shall continue our struggle until the Government responds positively.
