Dear Comrades/ Friends and Brothers:-
The 1st March is the death anniversary of Com M Krishnan and this is the 3 rd death anniversary.
Com M Krishnan was one of the tallest leader not only of the NFPE, but also of the Central Government Employees and Workers as well as of the Working class in our Country.
He joined in P &T Department as a Postal Clerk in April , 1974 and retired on superannuation wef. 31.08.2014.
He was a stalwart from very begining of his service life in NFPTE and later on in NFPE and Confederation of C G Employees. He was a very good organiser.
He was a social activist.
He was a dedicated personality and sacrificed his entire life for union activities.
I have seen him in many occasions. He was Divisional Secretary of P -3 , TVM Dn and a long time Circle secretary of Kerala Circle.
We met with each other from 1997-98 from our R-3 CHQ through Com C C Pillai who was the General Secretary of R-3. Then we became too closest with each other and met in all type of forums of NFPE.
He was elected as Secretary General of NFPE in the year 2011 and took charge from Com K Ragavendran. Then was elected as General Secretary of P-3 from the year 2012 and took charge from Com K V S. Then he was elected as Secretary General of Confederation of Central Government employees and workers in the year 2013 and took charge from Com K K N Kutty and remained up to February, 2020 till Nagpur AIC.
Since he was elected as Secretary General of NFPE, he was invited in all the circle conference of our R-3 Odisha and he attended my last conference Cum Farewell meeting at Cuttack in Kala Bikas Kendra on 30 th March, 2014 and stayed for two days at Cuttack. He came to Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri in many occasions of Our postal/ RMS Conferences, CWCs/ Study camps and for strike organizations.
He was the architect of AIPRPA and the AIPRPA is real the brain child of Com M Krishnan who proposed in 9 th Federal Council Session of NFPE at Hyderabad in P Sundaraya Bigyan Bhawan and took resolution to form an Pensioners Association of Postal/ RMS retired employees because in other organizations the Pensioners Association are formed but no Pensioners Association in Postal Department and the Postal Pensioners are joined with CGPA Or separately formed as Postal pensioners or RMS pensioners but are isolated, thus A Pensioners Association should be formed separately for Postal and RMS retired employees which was formed on ad hoc basis in All India during Sept, 2013 and he was the advisor.
Then in all states/ Circles, it was formed and the AIC 1 st held at Vellor ( T N). So Com M Krishnan was the founder father of AIPRPA which can't be denied. Now our AIPRPA is a mighty organization amongst the Pensioners Associations and now in recent past it is approved by Government to come under SCOVA. He was the Vice President of AIPRPA.
Com Krishnan became the Secretary General of NCCPA and Com K Ragvendran took charge of NCCPA as the Secretary General after the sad demise of Com M Krishnan.
Com M Krishnan was very talented and a real follwer of former leaders of NFPTE/ NFPE/ Confederation ie of Com K G Bose, N J Iyer, A S Rajan, N P Padmanabhan, Com K Adinarayana, Com S K Vyas, Com K K N Kutty . He came across with many tallest leaders of working class like EMS Namboodripada, Com Jyoti Basu, Com Prabhat Pattanaik, Com B T R, Com Prakas Karat, Com Sitaram Yechury, Com A K Padmanabhan, Com K Hemalata, and many more in Kerala state. He was a king maker. He had the power to resolve any critical issues arised if any within the Union meetings/ conferences or in official matters. He was a lion in Union field. He was a man of principle in nature. He never compromised with principle and policy. He was the architect of AIPEU- GDS by Spleeting from AIPEDEU for the monopoly of the leadership in that Union who always went against NFPE and shallowed the Union funds and utilised in his personal gains.
He was the leader( Staff side) in Departmentmental council of JCM and the member( Staff side) in NC JCM and many things are achieved.
During his leadership the Confederation was grown up to numbers of unions and Associations. It raised to 130 Unions and Associations and 28 state CoCs.
During his leadership in Confederation, many TU camps/ study classes were organised in many places and our comrades who attended came to know many things from the TU classes. He always used to speak about the life history of Babu Tarapada Mukherjee, B N Ghosh, K G Bose, N J Iyre and Com K Adinarayana and the history of NFPTE and NFPE and the sacrifice and dedication of the leaders to achieve the things which we are enjoyed now and to retain the same through struggle and united movements only for which unity is to be maintained.
His loss is an irreparable for us and for the working class when we are facing a critical situation in India for the dictatorship and Hitlership of BJP led facist Modi Government who is attacking people of this country in many ways and our Constitution too for which our democracy is murdered and going to be murdered. He was always using to say to fight against the injustice and onslaught of the Government without any salice or malaice.
He came to my house at Cuttack two times and our past interactions are recalling me till date. But the cruelty of nature snatched him away from us on 1 st March, 2021 through Corona pandemic, which is unbelievable till date.
We in his 3rd Death anniversary if will remember his past deeds for us and his advice by recalling his speeches delivered in our meetings/ conferences / seminars/ study classes, and utilise the same in works and implememted in our deeds, then there will be real respect and proper homage to our beloved leader, master, guide Com M Krishnan.
