The 17 th Annual General Meeting of the Geological Survey of India Employees' Association (GSIEA), Odisha State Unit was conducat successfully on 12.01.2024 in Bhubaneswar under the dynamic leadership of Com. Kavita Panda, Secretary, GSIEA, Odisha. Both the Open Session and Delegate Session were presided over by Com. Somanath Nayak, Vice-Chairman, GSIEA, Odisha.
Com Bruhaspati Samal, General Secretary, Confederation of C G Employees and Workers, Odisha State Coordination Committee inaugurated the Open Session. In his inauguaral speech, highlighting the issues pertaining to NPS/OPS, 8th CPC and most importantly on Labour Codes, he appealed the members to participate enmasse in the forthcoming agitational programmes to be finalized by JFROPS (NJCA) on 15th January 2024 mainly on on restoration of OPS and other genuine demands of the Central Govt. employees in particular and working class in general. He stressed upon to take every effort for getting public support to make our future struggles successful.
Com. R N Dhal, President of the State CoC as well as the President of JFROPS (NJCA) / State Secretary of AIPRPA, Odisha addressed as the Chief Speaker. He discussed on all issues confronting to the entirety of C G Employees and Workers including NPS and OPS, setting up of VIII CPC, immediate release of 18 months DA / DR arrears to employees and pensioners. He called upon all members to be mentally ready to join the proposed All India General Strike to be held probably on 16th February, 2024 against the anti workers, anti people, anti employees and anti Nation policies of BJP led NDA Government to save our Country, country men and Constitution as well.
Among other dignitaries, both the General Secretary and Ex-General Secretary, GSIEA, CHQ also graced the Open Session. The DDG of GSI, Odisha also wished the occasion as Chief Guest briefing on employer- employee relationship.
Com. Somanath Nayak, Com. Iswar Ch. Sahoo and Com. Alekh Kumar Sethi were unanimously elected as the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively for the ensuing Session.
