Dear Comrades, Friends and Fellow Employees & Pensioners,

Today has been an exceptionally emotional and memorable day for me. ❤️

The call given by the Confederation of Central Govt Employees and Workers to organise a Lunch-Hour Demonstration on 19 August 2026 with the single, uncompromising demand—“SCRAP NPS, WITHDRAW UPS AND RESTORE OPS” has received a massive and inspiring response across Odisha. ✊🔥

As reports continue to pour in, thousands of employees and pensioners from Income Tax, Geological Survey of India, BSNL, India Post and many other Central Government Departments participated enthusiastically in demonstrations held at different places across the State, including our State Capital, Bhubaneswar. The scale of participation has filled me with immense pride and satisfaction. 🙏

As the General Secretary of the Odisha State Coordination Committee of the Confederation, I am personally overwhelmed to witness this extraordinary unity. Your participation has demonstrated that when an issue directly concerns the social security, dignity and future of employees and pensioners, the rank and file can rise above departmental boundaries and stand together as one powerful force. ✊🤝

At the same time, the NCCPA/FCPA/AIRPA gave a call to observe Call Attention Day on the same broad issues concerning pay and pension. The demands included withdrawal of the validation clause in the CCS (Pension) Rules, modification of the Terms of Reference of the 8th Central Pay Commission by deleting the objectionable expression “unfunded cost of non-contributory pension scheme”, wage and pension revision of BSNL/MTNL employees, updation of pension of Bank employees, merger of DA/DR with Pay/Pension, grant of interim relief, pension parity and settlement of all pending CGHS issues.

The Confederation Odisha State CoC was proud to participate in this programme organised in front of Cuttack GPO. It was another powerful expression of our collective determination to defend the legitimate rights and dignity of employees and pensioners. ✊📢

For me personally, the day remained hectic from morning till evening. Travelling from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack, attending demonstrations at different places and meeting comrades and participants wherever possible was physically demanding. Yet, at the end of the day, I feel deeply satisfied, emotionally enriched and immensely proud. ❤️

The tiredness of the day has disappeared in the face of the tremendous enthusiasm I witnessed everywhere. 🙏❤️

My heartfelt gratitude goes to each and every leader of all the affiliates of the Confederation of Central Govt Employees and Workers, Odisha State CoC, who took the call seriously, mobilised their organisations and ensured that the programme was conducted with determination and discipline. 🙏🤝

My special thanks go to every employee, pensioner and participant who came out of their workplaces and homes during the lunch hour and raised their voice for a secure and dignified pension system. Your participation has given strength and credibility to our struggle. ❤️✊

This was not merely a demonstration. It was an assertion of our collective conscience. It was a declaration that social security cannot be sacrificed at the altar of fiscal arithmetic, and that pension is not charity—it is a right earned through years of service to the nation. 🇮🇳✊

Today, Odisha has once again demonstrated its fighting spirit. 🔥✊

Let us preserve this unity, strengthen our organisations and carry forward the struggle with greater determination until our just demand is achieved.
