Remembering #Com_M_Krishnan, the unparalleled leader who lived a successful life in the welfare of the working class.
Really it was unbelievable and shocking to digest the news of sudden demise of our beloved veteran leader, ex-President and General Secretary, AIPEU, Group-C, CHQ, ex-Secretary General, National Federation of Postal Employees and Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, the militant Trade Unionist, ardent lover and accredited pioneer, meticulous performer Com. M Krishnan on 1st March, 2021 due to COVID at the age of 67 (Born on 6th August, 1954)
His death is a great irreparable loss not only to the Postal / Central Govt. Employees and Workers, but to the entire working class as a whole.
He had / has a special bonding with the employees and workers of Odisha Circle which no one can forget. After he took over the charge of the President, AIPEU, Group-C CHQ in 2006 in Jwalaji (HP) Conference, the trade union activities amongst the workers and employees was accelerated with a new momentum.
Comrade Krishnan joined the Postal Department in 1974. With his active involvement in the trade union activities, from 1976 onwards he has been elected to various positions in the All India Postal Employees Union (Group C), National Federation of Postal Employees (#NFPE) and #CCGEW from Branch Secretary up wards. He served as the Circle Secretary of P3 Union, Convenor of Kerala Postal Union, President and General Secretary of P3 All India Union, Secretary General of NFPE and Confederation. He led many struggles at Circle to National level. Numerous strike struggles, particularly by the postal employees at national level, braving many attacks and atrocities during last couple of decades are the examples of his effective leadership in the employees’ movement.
He also took initiative in organizing effective solidarity actions for many struggles of various sectors, including in Kerala. He had been one of such leading personalities of central govt employees’ movement who contributed immensely during the span of around four and half decades of his active trade union life, to fully aligning and effectively involving the central govt employees movement with the united movement of the working class on all major policy issues thereby ,making the employees movement an integral part of the countrywide united struggles of the working class against neoliberal policy regime. He had attended many international conferences of TUI Public Services and #WFTU.
He says, "Unless we, with all the working class, garner the political and public support to resist the ravaging globalization policies, our survival will become difficult despite the efforts and activities we propose."
In the meantime 2 years have passed and today on 01.03.2023 we are celebrating the 2nd Death Anniversary of the departed leader.
If we can turn his ideology into reality, that will be the best regards and homage to him.
Leaders like #Com_M_Krishnan have no death. They always live in the hearts of the people.
